The American Dorper Sheep Breeders’ Society was organized in December of 1995. In October of 1996 the first event was held in Cameron, Texas with attendees from Mexico, Canada, South Africa and several regions of the United States. The first business meeting was held and a board of directors was elected. By December 1996, the organizational by-laws were formalized and the Society was incorporated.

There are several great activities coming up in June and July for our junior members:

June 16 - Midwest Junior Preview Show, Litton Agr-Sciences Center, Chillicothe, Missouri - A great "layed back" educational show with a dozen breeds participating.  Dorpers & White Dorpers are competing for over $1,100 in premiums!  This is truly a great fun learning show.  Details, motel information, online entry is available at www.MidwestJuniorPreviewShow.com.

June 27 - ADSBS Youth Society Organizational Meeting & Pizza Party - Missouri State Fairgrounds, Sedalia, MO at Noon in conjunction with the National Dorper Sale and AGM.  ADSBS Junior Members interested in serving on the Youth Board of Directors should email a brief biography and contact information to Eric Bruns (Riverwood_Farms@msn.com) by June 15th.

July 6-8 - All American Junior Show - Iowa State Fairgrounds, Des Moines, IA.  Dorpers and White Dorpers are welcomed for the fourth year to this nationwide gathering of junior sheep enthusiasts in all breeds.  A premium book is attached, and further information is available at www.AllAmericanJuniorShow.com.
